Tenebris Somnia on Steam Deck & Linux
The next step
The developer states that Tenebris Somnia is Steam Deck Verified and says the demo should work on Deck. Steam’s PC platform metadata lists Windows, not native Linux. Deck compatibility and native Linux support are different claims.
“Invalid platform” when installing
A player reply in the Deck thread identifies disabled compatibility layers as a possible reason a Windows download is rejected. Check the game’s Steam compatibility settings and that Steam Play is enabled for Windows software on your device. The developer separately recommends validating files or reinstalling. These are source-based checks, not a tested fix for every Linux distribution.
Performance and cutscenes
We have not measured FPS, battery life or a recommended Proton version. Older demo threads contain cutscene reports from 2024–2025; they do not prove the launch build has the same fault. If the problem persists, record game version, SteamOS or Linux version, Proton version and whether it affects the demo or full game before comparing reports.
