Tenebris Somnia boss & combat guide

Spoilers ahead: progression and solutions.

The next step

For Obscuratus, extinguish the arena candles to reveal the boss before attacking. Break grapples by rapidly pressing interact. For Fumus, clear red circles while unarmed; entering one with a loaded gun is fatal.

Obscuratus: reveal, damage, repeat

Run between the lit candles and interact with each until all are extinguished. The initially invisible boss becomes visible; use that opening to deal damage. When invisibility returns, repeat the candle circuit. Do not spend the phase attacking an unseen target while candles remain lit. For Iron and wax, the published achievement requires defeating this boss with only the Wrench.

Fumus: remove the weapon before red circles

A loaded firearm makes the circle lethal. A melee weapon causes self-inflicted damage; an empty gun still traps you in a long animation. Unequip everything before deliberately stepping into a circle to erase it. Re-equip away from remaining circles to resume attacking. If attempting Exhaust Pipe, use only the pipe for the boss damage.

Grapples, Sanguis and studio lights

Mash interact to escape Vitria’s tentacle or a Relicta grapple; waiting lets the attack continue. During Sanguis’ beast chase, lure him onto the giant knife near the end so it impales him. In Sulfur arenas, shoot or strike a glowing studio light to wipe out the enemies currently on screen when the arena becomes crowded.

The demand sheet mentions Hermes, but the verified combat guide does not establish a Hermes boss strategy. Use the confirmed encounter names here rather than applying another boss’s rules to an unverified name.
